Phil Completes Walk for Ebola
Charlotte suggested that Phil could do a sponsored walk around the local park to raise some money and Charlotte agreed to do it with him. Due to Phil’s condition, he struggles walking any sort of distance but he was so determined to raise some money that he agreed, however, the local park wasn’t good enough for Phil. It was agreed that the walk would take place around Furzton Lake on the 16th December 2014.
Phil’s target was to raise £100.00 but by the time the walk came around the total was sitting at £400.00. Unfortunately Phil was too poorly by the time the 16th December came around and after a small stint in hospital he was ruled out of being able to complete the walk. But being the person he is he remained positive and determined that he would complete it.
By March Phil felt well enough to attempt his long awaited charity walk and on the 19th March 2015, he completed it with support and assistance of Charlotte. In total Phil has raised £455.00 for UNICEF. In completing this challenge, Phil felt a huge amount of pride and was extremely thankful to everyone that helped to smash his original target.
