PJ Care staff recognised in a run of awards

Staff have been celebrating recognition in a range of awards, both regionally and nationally.

Estate Deputy Manager, Grant Mugford, was named 'Ancillary Worker of the Year' in the national finals of the Great British Care Awards.

Judges commended him for his "outstanding commitment and passion for his residents"

"Grant goes above and beyond his maintenance role, supporting staff and residents alike," the judges said.

Student nurse, Heather Marchant, received 'Highly Commended' in the 'Dementia Carer' category.  Judges noted how her "abundant" passion for caring for people with dementia and her desire to qualify as a specialist dementia nurse "only reinfoces how incredible she is."

PJ Care had seven finalists in sixcatergories in the Peterborough Apprenticeship Awards.

Business administrator, Becky Arnott, was crowned 'Regional Apprentice of the Year'.  Currently completing her Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship, former carer Becky was recognised for her "endless motivation" and her "total commitment and dedication to her role."

The pandemic has prsented her with many challenges which she has handled extremely well and always to the benefit of her colleagues.

Specialist nurse, MIchaela Russell, has been shortlisted in the 'Clinical Nurse Manager' category of the inaugural Social Care Leadership Awards.  These recgonise, celebrate and promote great leadership in the sector.

The winners of these awards will be announced on the 27th October.
