Job Title: Learning & Development Manager

John is a driven and highly experienced clinician who has well developed skills in mental health nursing, peer reviewing, service inspection and learning and development. He is a qualified Mental Health Nurse who is not only experienced in Adult Nursing and CAMHS, but also in Brain Injury Rehabilitation.

John has held various posts at ward and Senior Management in hospital settings and whilst at St Andrews Healthcare was also awarded a letter of Commendation for Bravery from the Chief Constable of Northamptonshire, after being held at gun point by an intruder at one of the hospitals outlying wards for over 1½ hours in the early hours, before finally overcoming the armed intruder and getting police assistance to arrest the man.

John is an accredited Lead Peer Reviewer for the Royal College of Psychiatry’s – Quality Network for Forensic Mental Health Services. In addition, he has gained full accreditation as Investors in People ‘Internal’ Reviewer. He has also acted as an expert resource on many clinical training, service delivery and nursing practice issues. John has co-authored and published research, relating to Reducing Medication Errors in Nursing.
