Eagle Wood comprises of five neurological care units. Each Unit provides a distinct care model catering for different aspects of neurological nursing needs; including long term neurological conditions, neuro-rehabilitation, frontal temporal dementias, learning disabilities and complex care.

Our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team work with our residents and their family, the NHS and neuro specialists to create and continually review personalised care programmes and care prescriptions based on the individual’s changing needs,  this coupled with  award winning facilities and specialist trained staff means we are able to give the highest level of care.

All Units in Eagle Wood have:

• Large ensuite bedrooms that can be personalised to individual taste

• Freshly prepared meals using ingredients from local suppliers

At the heart of Eaglewood is our central hub of core services, including:

• Skills kitchen

• 24 hour nursing care, respite care, day or night care
• Personalised care pathways and rehabilitation prescriptions

Watling Unit - Neuro-rehabilitation

Our Watling Unit specialises in neuro-rehabilitation to maximise our resident’s independence and allow them to manage their condition.

Number of ensuite bedrooms: 23

Conditions catered for: Neuro-rehabilitation for conditions such as High Spinal Injury, Acquired Brain Injury, Stroke and Myasthenia Gravis

Service focus: Transitional care pathway, maximize resident’s independence

Funding: NHS or Local Authority, self –directed support

Fosse Unit - Complex Care

Our Fosse Unit specialises in complex high dependency specialist nursing care, supporting residents who have invasive and non-invasive artificial intervention and have complex therapy needs.

Number of ensuite bedrooms: 17

Conditions catered for: High dependency nursing care, for residents who have invasive and non-invasive artificial ventilation or complex nursing and therapy needs

Service focus: Complex Neurological Care leading to Palliative end of life care

Funding: NHS or Local Authority, Private

Cedar Unit - Young onset frontal temporal dementias

Our Cedar Unit is for residents diagnosed with young onset frontal temporal dementias and offers the highest quality of care in a safe and nurturing environment throughout the progression of the conditions.

Number of ensuite bedrooms: 28

Conditions catered for: young onset frontal temporal dementias with complex healthcare needs.

Service focus: Complex Neurological Care leading to Palliative end of life care

Funding Options: NHS or Local Authority, private funding

Chestnut Unit - Long term neurological conditions

Our Chestnut Unit is for residents with long term neurological conditions who require specialist nursing and therapy to ensure quality of life through the different stages of their condition.

Number of ensuite bedrooms: 25

Conditions catered for: Neurological progressive conditions with complex healthcare needs such as Huntington's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone disease, Parkinson's disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Multi System Atrophy

Service focus: Complex neurological care leading to palliative end of life care

Funding Options: NHS or Local Authority, private funding

Oak Wing - Learning disabilities

Our Oak Unit provides care for young adults, typically aged between 18-35, with Learning Disabilities. Oak unit has a hydrotherapy bath, sensory room, and direct access to our roof garden complete with sensory flower beds. Our Oak residents are actively encouraged and supported to access local amenities to promote their independence lifestyles

Conditions catered for: Learning Disabilities

Service focus: 18 - 35 age range although other adults can be catered for
